Last Friday I attended a seminar given by Hans Diehl, DrHSc, Director of the Lifestyle Medical Institute at Loma Linda, California.  The seminar was entitled: “Western Killer Diseases: Their Etiology, Treatment and Regression”.  The seminar was enlightening and informative.  A revelation to me was that Diabetes, Coronary Artery Diseases and Cancers of the breast, prostate, colon, and lungs were virtually unknown in this country less than 100 years ago.  What has changed?  The answer: The Good Life.  We have changed out eating behavior so radically that we are killing ourselves with food.  What is also very interesting is studies are showing that changing our eating habits will prevent, arrest, and possibly reverse our chances of developing these diseases.  Some websites to check out if you want you and your children to stay healthy by choice-not chance are: Wellness Councils Of America;; and

While I was researching diseases of the Digestive System, I came across an interesting note I would like to share.  Three diseases related to the digestive system all seem to have one prevailing behavior.  These diseases are GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease), Diabetes Mellitus, and Obesity.  What was the behavior? Answer: Snacking after dinner.
